Polar Express At The OML Was A Huge Hit!

The Oxford Memorial Library welcomed more than 60 passengers for a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express. Bill Brower, a.k.a. Mr. Conductor, once again, brought the classic childrens' book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg, to life for passengers of all ages. Following the ride, passengers were surprised by a special guest, SANTA! There was a collective gasp from children and adults when Santa made his entrance. Every child had an opportunity to sit on Santa's lap and give him some, in-person, requests for Christmas morning. Every child received a present (book), a candy cane, and a bell. Passengers were also treated to some hot cocoa and cookies for snack. It was a great evening. Thank you to all who attended! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Blessed New Year! Suzanne Bloom Scavenger Hunt Contest

Congratulations to our contest winners!
Autographed Book Winners: Micaela Brandt & Tanner Tefft
Hoppie's Ice Cream Cone Certificates: Aidan Baker, Raichel Brandt, Emily Barrows, and Nathaly Tefft.
Great Job Everyone!!

What's Where? or Where's What?, no matter what you call it, it means that there is a fun contest taking place at the Oxford Memorial Library during the month of October. Local, award-winning, childrens' author/illustrator, Suzanne Bloom, visited the library on October 6th to promote her newest book, Feeding Friendsies. The program was a huge hit with children of all ages, many even went home with personalized, autographed copies of some of Suzanne's books. If you missed this program don't despair, Suzanne has helped the library put together a special, fun for all ages, scavenger hunt contest. Everyone is invited to stop by the library and pick up an entry page and check out the display case, featuring items found in many of Suzanne's books. Your job is to match up what item is found in what book (hint: some make an appearance in more than one, and, yes, we do have books on display for searching), enter the name of the item next to the correct book on the entry form, and return the form to the library by NOVEMBER 14th. We will award prizes for entries with the most correct. A child and teen winner will be chosen. Call the library at 843-6146 for further information.
