All we will need is a valid photo ID and a short application completed to get you ready to check out books. We have many great books, magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, and reference materials for your enjoyment and information. Internet access is also available for any patron age 10 and up on one of our 3 public computers. You will need a valid and fine free library card and complete a short orientation application to use the internet services. We also have great meeting spaces to accomodate almost any size group. Call the library at 843-6146 or stop by the front desk to pick up an application for room use. All applications MUST be pre-approved by the Library Director prior to use.

Please be sure to encourage your child to not only read for school, but to take time each day and read for pleasure. In addition to great books, reading can include a newspaper, magazine, or graphic novel. Maybe together you and your child can read a book that inspired a movie. Then watch the movie and compare it to the book. The result may surprise you.

Upcoming Programs

Be sure and watch for the return of a very special story time. Perhaps it will be in March? Keep checking back here for updates. You won't want to miss it. Are you curious yet? Well, here it is... Diesel Dan is returning to the Oxford Memorial Library and bringing with him his ever popular Dragon program. This is a great way to celebrate the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Dragon. This promises to be a fun evening for the entire family. Don't miss it!

How are you doing with your New Year's Resolutions? Did you resolve to get more exercise? Maybe tone up or lose weight? Watch for more information on how you can participate in an informal exercise program at the library in our new community room a couple of evenings a week.

                             *********SAVE THE DATES FOR APRIL**********

Saturday April 7th at 11:00am there will be a special Easter Craft Day at the library for kids of all ages.

Then, on Thursday April 19th at 7:00pm the Oxford Memorial Library is please to welcome back William McManus, a.k.a. William the Crusader, Knight in Shining Armor. This is a fantastic program for all ages. You will see a real knight in full armor. This is a very hands-on program. You will get to see and feel armor, chain mail, and weaponry from that period. William is VERY knowledgeable about everything regarding being a knight. In the past program he would choose a child to dress in full armor; we have not heard whether or not he will do that again this time (we are hoping). This is a program not to be missed.

Suzanne Bloom will present a really special fun-filled program and workshop, Wish On A Star, on Saturday April 21st at 10:00am.
